Packed leaderboard after round 1 of Alberta Ladies Amateur Championship

Alberta Golf (Chestermere) – Round one is in the books at the Alberta Ladies Amateur Championship at Lakeside Golf Club in Chestermere. The first round of tournament action in 2020 for most of these competitors resulted in a packed leaderboard with 11 players within 3 shots of the lead on a dry but windy day. 2 BC golfers, 14-year-old Yeji Kwon and 17-year-old Euna Han along with 20-year-old Sarah-Eve Rheaume from Quebec are co-leaders at 1 under par with Calgary’s Annabelle Ackroyd one shot back.

Canadian National Squad member Sarah-Eve Rheaume of Quebec City talked after the round about her decision to come to Alberta to compete this week.

This is one of the strongest fields in the history of the Championship with 18 players a zero handicap index or better. The second round of the 54 hole event goes Tuesday morning at Lakeside Golf Club in Chestermere.
